Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is a British-American sitarist and musician. She was the very first and youngest female to receive an award from the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka is the rising star in Indian sitar. She's the daughter of Ravi Shankar and a former student. She was a child who bounded between London in the UK to New Delhi. When she was 13 she performed her debut performance in New Delhi. After moving to Encinitas, CA in 1999 she received an honorary high school diploma. Anouskha still has a promising career in recording and performing despite being young. Her father was with her to numerous performances over several years. She released her debut solo album Anourag in the year 1998. The album was released in 2002. her Grammy Nominated Live at Carnegie Hall. In addition to performing in many of the biggest venues as well, she has a long stage career. Anoushka Shankar's work isn't restricted to just performing in music. Bapi the The Love of My Live, a biography of a picture that was dedicated to her father Ravi Shankar was published in 2002. The year 2003 saw her appeared on Dance Like a Man as a Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka Shankar's professional career is continuing to develop and we're likely to see a lot from her in the years to come. Anoushka was a frequent traveler and spent lots of time between London and Delhi during her young years. After that, she moved to California for high school. Anoushka started her music studies when she was nine. Four years later, she made her appearance on the sitar in Delhi at her father's 75th birthday party. As a part of her dad's band as they toured around the globe, Anoushka was able to accumulate a variety of experiences appearing on stage at Carnegie Hall while still in her teens, performing in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival, and also recording alongside George Harrison. In recognition of being an outstanding musician in the field of Asian Arts, she was given the House of Commons Shield by British Parliament.
